Playa Panteon didn't suffer near so much as you might have hearsd, sola; I'll try to post post more shots tomorrow if I can coax the right camera to work. There's still plenty of sand on the beach; the main problem is too much sand under the palapas!by por johnzap - Puerto Angel

Well, sola, there's really not a lot of beach in Mazunte, but it'll come back as always (Ojala!) Zipolite's still in pretty good shape; hacen't gotten back to La Tijera or Tembo, yet. Fishing has returned in ernest since the second round. I'm going to look for aome alleged lost pangas next week. It may be time for the trash can & plastic bag lift salvage! Got home Monday after the waves struck, only to find the streets jammed with boats taken out of the water and sand in all beachfront establishments, with the palapas on Playa Panteon filled with a two meter+ load. Until I can change migrante status, I've gotta hit la frontera every 180 days. Since I also have need of periodic medical visits, I headed back to Texas for this set of papers revisions. Sola, like a nasty fungus, Pochutla just keeps growing on you. Decades ago, it was the Zona de Tolerencias that kept folks coming back. But if you need building supplies and the like, Ferroteria Roga remains the most likely spot to find whatever you lack. The road looks good, Sola. The gap leading to Bungalos Monte Christo has been filled with fresh 'crete. The new food casetas between there and the Capatania have yet to be occupied. The gazebo looks finished, but has yet to host its first band; I am hopeful that Ticolichs will take care of that, soon. C'mon down and enjoy the changes!by por johnzap - Puerto Angel

The community mourns the loss of two fishermen four days ago in the rough seas produced by the current rebalse event. Th.e fishermen departed from Ixtaccahuite and haven't been seen since. We can hope for a miracle but prepare for the worstby por johnzap - Puerto Angel

Drowning This Weekend - 9
A near-shore swimmer found the swirling currents of the recent rebalse more than he could handle. The local salvavidas maintained CPR from recovery to ambulance arrival, but to no avail. ATM/Cajero Automatica - 9
There is currently a working ATM in Mazunte. It is not attached to a bank, of which there are NONE below Pochutla on 175. If you do go into Pochutla, the lowest ATM fee I have found is at the Caja Popular de Oaxaca on your left going into town, at 17.5p. The next lowest I have found is two doors down at the Elektra, believe it or not. 20p. For comparison, Scotiabank is 29p and Bancomer (and the Mby por johnzap - Zipolite - Mazunte - Agustinillo - Ventanilla

The road is actually fake "pavers". They pour 'crete; use a pattern sheet to make it look like pavers; then come back with a saw to cut it every couple of meters...by por johnzap - Puerto Angel

About 30 mtrs on one side; almost all the way to the Agencia Municipal on the other. Rightr now, the pavers are red as is the top of the ceter concrete strip. I'll post some pics tomorrow if I can figure which camera lets me attach here...by por johnzap - Puerto Angel

You know, I really haven't gotten all the dynamics figured out. I know that Marco, who owns the Hotel Playa Zipolite in the Roca Blanca area, is involved; I know Gener is in his second term as Presidente Municipal; and I know they bring back some really big fish.
