Unfortunately no one uses this forum much. If you speak Spanish you might ask at the Casa de Cultura in town. I'm biased but I think Comala is great. I don't know of any specific places to rent but do know that there has been a proliferation of Air B&B etc places here. I've only seen a couple of them but they are adequate to good for a longer stay.by iamx - Colima - Comala

The place in Villa was in a business area with the usual limited parking and lines of people around two blocks - several hundred at least. We figured we would be waiting forever so we went to the Colima site. We still had to park a half mile away or so it seemed, then wait in a line blocks long. All I know about are a good dermatologist in Colima - Karel Sahagún Sánchez - in Colima and a great dentist - Ricardo Bravo - also in Colima. I don't know where you are from but the doctor and the clinic in Comala gets pretty good reviews. They all speak English. Cuaxiote is an ultra fine dining restaurant that has been open a few months now in Comala. Everything about it is first class, including the staff, professionalism, ambience, and food. A number of on-line comments describe it better than I can. Reservations are recommended – 312-118-8931. It is located on calle Degollado #81. My wife went to Office Depot today to get some stuff. She was not allowed in because she was over 60 years old. Evidently there is some bizarre basis for that due to Covid. I have heard there are other stores doing the same thing now. I have no idea what that is supposed to accomplish.by iamx - Colima - Comala

I should have added that Carlos and his father are excellent craftsmen. We had them replace five interior doors and frames that had been eaten by termites. They came by and took measurements and then came back a couple of weeks later with a pile of boards etc. Everything was precut and then they assembled and stained them. Everything fit perfectly. Here in Comala we have several pleasant streets for walking which, unfortunately, have unrestrained and very aggressive dogs. I have seen pepper spray online which I assume would be effective in deterring them, presumably with one or two applications. I am not anxious to use it on them but I am also not anxious to being threatened again or bitten. I am not very good at throwing rocks anymore. Tby iamx - Colima - Comala

We have been holed up for months but there is one in Villa de Alvarez assuming it is open. From Comala go towards Colima. Continue past the dancing dogs, past Soriana and Carl's Jr and after a few blocks watch on the right for Banorte and Waldo's. It starts there and is on the right. Saturdays my wife thinks. We don't go out much nowadays but have been to Colima a few times. Chepe's is open and I haven't noticed any restaurants that appear to be permanently closed. Several of the better ones seem to be open but are probably just hanging on. In addition to Don Comalon the other botanas in Comala are also open but I haven't been brave enough to try one. Chagas disease - 5 years ago
At our place just outside of Comala, my wife found a Triatoma sanguisuga insect in the atrium while cleaning yesterday. Also known as the “kissing bug,” it carries the parasite that transmits Chagas disease which is often fatal if not treated, although it may take years for the infection to become evident. I recommend that you familiarize yourself with it. It is common in the State of Colima.by iamx - Colima - Comala

I don’t know if you are interested in Comala but that’s all I know about. A few years ago we rented a bungalow here from a professor of architecture. It was a short walk to the centro and beautiful, set in his private and fenced eco-garden along with two or three others. The places are small but have adequate kitchens, WiFi, and are set among tropical trees and flowers. I assume you a familiarby iamx - Colima - Comala
