Was scheduled for Sept 29, then rescheduled to Oct 6 due to weather. The weather today was great. Brian was only available for the first set. We set up the lights for the second set. The camera microphone revealed that one of the speakers began buzzing at the second set in response to bass notes. It was good to play at a car show again since we used to enjoy playing for the more informal Leander Car Show. Shane's former bandmates, Matt and Brian, from Stone Crow were there. They now play with Revolver. Friday, June 23   6:30 to 8:30 pm. Georgetown Music on the Square Concert Series on the Northeast corner of the Courthouse at 7th and Main St. Flyer. Today we were under a heat advisory due to high temperature and humidity. We were in full shade and had our fans but there was no escaping the effects of the heat. Nevertheless we enjoyed the performance. Mickie Ross was handling things and gave an opening and a closing address. We started with the B-25 sound effect and I explained the significance of that because of the restored B-25/PBJ-1J at the Georgetown Municipal Airport and I also mentioned that we have the Confederate Air Forces's only female pilot qualified to fly the B-25 here is Georgetown as well. This was our first concert. Normally we play events and venues were we are just adding some excitement but are not the event itself. The crowd gathered early as they normally do for these events and some people found spots around the corner, away from the main crowd. The crowd was very responsive with cheers and whistles sometimes even in the middle of songs. There were people who got up and danced during Heatwave in spite of the oppressive heat. There was a lot of activity at the tip jar. Saturday, September 17, 2016   Leander Pop Up Market. We had been scheduled to play the Leander Car Show on the first Sunday but in the meantime the event changed to a market and car show held each month on the 3rd Saturday. There were a few cars being shown. Management of the event shifted from the City of Leander to the Leander Chamber of Commerce. Tomzap played from 10am to 1pm at 200 West Willis Street in downtown Leander. It was a very hot sunny day for September and we had to take more breaks than usual. We set up on the asphalt pad in the midst of the vendors. The vendors included a produce vendor, for the first time as far as I know. There were several vendors with hand made items. This was our last gig to play with our bass player, Rodger Hutchins. He is stepping aside and we are working with Mario Marrufo who will replace Rodger.

Saturday, July 23, 2016   Leander Beer Market. Tomzap played from 9pm to 12 midnight at 106 West Willis Street, on the outdoor stage. We set up facing the street this time but again most people decided to sit behind us. We brought some lighting with us this time. We set up a Blizzard Hotstik COB LED light on a tripod in front and 2 LED PARs on the floor behind the drums. This seemed to work well and allowed us to video. Mario, a prospective bass player candidate, came to meet the band and see us play. Shane's family came. Jim, former guitarist for Common Thread, stopped by with his wife. There was a young couple there who were interested in having us play for their wedding. Friday, May 6, 2016   Leander Beer Market. Tomzap played from 7pm to 11pm on the outdoor stage. Kylie and Mitch were there for the whole show and brought Mitch's family. We set up facing the building but this didn't work so well because people did not favor the few tables in front of us and there wasn't a clear view from the porch due a large banner. The tables behind us stayed full most of the time as people came and went. We used De Música Ligera for the sound check because there was a group of latinos sitting in front and I wanted to see if we could get a rise out of them. This time we did. Most people in the U.S. are not familiar with the song but it was wildly popular in countries to the south. See the video at right. We cut Rodger's keyboard portion of the set short becuase he was not feeling up it. We played the remainder of the songs and played a few again at the end of the last set. Sound Check: De Música Ligera   I picked this song for sound check to see if we could get a rise out of the latino folks who were finishing up their beers at the table in front of us, partially viewable in the video. The young lady out of view in the video overheard me tell the band that we would play De Música Ligera and she told the young man across the table. He didn't appear to believe her. But as soon as we started, he recognized the opening chords and was singing along just as Soda Stereo audiences used to do, giving us the thumbs up as they walked away. Halfway down the block they paused to listed to more of the song. It's Alright It's Okay

Sunday, May 1, 2016   Leander Car Show. Tomzap played from 10am to 1pm at 200 West Willis Street in downtown Leander. Cliff came by. Norbert and Julia arrived late with the Nova after some car trouble. Kylie and Mitch stopped by and asked us about playing at their wedding. The Leander Car Show up to this time has been put on by the City of Leander. It will become a Chamber of Commerce event and the date will be moved from first Sunday of the month to third Saturday of the month. The next car show that we play will be September 17. Saturday, February 27   Leander Beer Market at 106 W. Willis in downtown Leander. Tomzap played outdoors from 7pm to 10pm. The weather was cool with temperatures in the low to mid 60's, which was comfortable for us until the wind came up around 9:30 pm.
