Shannonj, (Copied from my comment from Huatulco comments) I read your article on Puerto Angel. I find it very misleading. People who are planning to go should have a much more realistic idea of what to expect. It's primarily a small fishing village. Most of the places and activities you describe are not in Puerto Angel, but in the nearby towns of Mazunte, Zipolite and San Agustiby solasol - Puerto Angel
Muy interesante... My ex-father-in-law (may he rest in peace) told the story of the 1928 tsunami. He hurt his leg running to alert people, and walked with a limp for the rest of his life.by solasol - Puerto Angel
Hi, Just realized that you're basically a local, so you know about beach eating.... Beto and Felipa's "El Ripio" at Playa Estacahuite is still my top recomendation!by solasol - Puerto Angel
Day time is great for eating at a beach. Shady palapas, toes in the sand. Felipa and Beto's on the far beach to the left at Playa Estacahuite is our favorite. Also, most of the restaurants at Playa del Panteon. We don't really have a favorite. The one to far left, Cordelia's, is a bit more expensive, but has a more diverse menu. It's good, but we usually eat at oneby solasol - Puerto Angel
Thank you! True, but I thought it would be easier for them to find the place where that work is done, by it's commonly used name.by solasol - Puerto Angel
One founding family was from Panama, when it was part of Colombia.by solasol - Puerto Angel
Do you mean in it's original history? As in the founding families? Or, are you referring to later years? Are you studying the area?by solasol - Puerto Angel
I went to Zipolite for the first time 40 years ago. Probably similar then to when you went 30 years ago. There were only 3 palapas on the beach at that time...Felipa's, Lourdes', and Pancho's, who is no longer with us. It doesn't even seem like the same place now! Can't even see the beach from the now paved road! In fact, I don't consider it the same place, but I&by solasol - Zipolite - Mazunte - Agustinillo - Ventanilla

Does anybody know if there's a website for Zimat in Pochutla? I need to choose pool tile colors from afar!by solasol - Zipolite - Mazunte - Agustinillo - Ventanilla

Yes, it's a dirt path up the hill. You probably know this, but metal work is called "balconeria" in Spanish.by solasol - Puerto Angel
Glad you (sort of) got that sorted out!by solasol - Puerto Angel
There's a metal worker along the main road on the way into town from Pochutla, after Tio Chilo's, up a dirt path, before the Agencia in Puerto Angel.by solasol - Puerto Angel
Wow, are you real?by solasol - Puerto Angel
I thought you were out on the coast? If so, Casa Bonita in Pochutla is great.by solasol - City of Oaxaca
There are carpinters in Puerto Angel that can help you. One of them is up by the entrance to the Universidad del Mar. I think his name is Sebastian.by solasol - Puerto Angel
Have you asked your neighbors? The garbage truck comes to our Estachuite neighborhood every Friday. Try asking at the Agencia Munipal. The treasurer rides around on the truck collecting the fees. Good luck!by solasol - Puerto Angel
You could also try the Buena Vista. They have nice little apartments. Views, airy, pool. The website is labuenavistaby solasol - Puerto Angel
See my post in "Pto. Angel". I think there's only one.by solasol - Zipolite - Mazunte - Agustinillo - Ventanilla
I've only ever seen one ATM in the Huatulco airport. I don't remember what bank it's from, we just use it because there's no other choice! We've never had a problem with it in the many years that we've been there. We've only used it upon arrival, so that's our only experience with it. Hope this helps!by solasol - Puerto Angel
Marey's tacos are great, love the "waitresses", and we love the atmosphere. She's one hard working woman! And you can order an Agua right there, they'll go accross the street to their Agua stand and bring it to you. They have the BEST AGUAS in Puerto Angel! Marey always puts an extra potato or two on my plate, 'cuz she knows I love them. I don't know why Iby solasol - Puerto Angel
Wow, I'll have to think about this...not much to choose from in Pto. Angel! Oh, except the obvious best taco stand...Marey's!by solasol - Puerto Angel
I'll check it out with my friends, who are the owners, and report. It was up in the air for awhile.by solasol - Puerto Angel
Thanks for the fotos! I love that place! We can see it's lights at night from our house in Estacahuite, and always try to imagine what they're doing way up there!by solasol - Puerto Angel
Keep me posted as to when you 'que. I'll let the guests who rent our house know to check it out.by solasol - Puerto Angel
I've never even seen the Caja Popular!! Gotta check that out next time!by solasol - Puerto Angel
