2 years ago, we were in Mexico 4 times one winter, all over the Tomzap Empire. First 3 trips I was not effected, running to bathroom, the corner store for yogurt. The 4th trip, I am convinced my 14 yr. old daughter and I got the bug from the pool at the house we rented in Bucerias for 3 weeks. I have never been so ill, wanting to die, at times. My daughter actually collapsed, and I didn'by rompinggie - City of Oaxaca
The You Tube ditty, pretty much says it all. It may be somewhat exagerated, but maybe not. I know where my folks live, S. of Vancouver, towards, White Rock, S. Surrey, it is prevalent. Head for New Wset, and hang onto your hat?by rompinggie - Off-Topic Forum
Here is a recipe for Poached Sockeye. When I get my Sockeye, I usually cut them into steaks about 1 1/8" thick, but stop on the steaks about 6 inches from the tail end(tail removed) This leaves what is actually the tastiest part of the fish. So,,,,,,,,,,,, POACHED SOCKEYE CHUNK 1 QT. Liqiud(3 prts water, 1 prt white wine.) 1 t Paprikaby rompinggie - Off-Topic Forum
Some recent dishevelment, re: La Manzanilla. Because I don't know how to post a link, you will have to go to The Vancouver Province. Look at the story" Slice of Mexican Paradise becomes eviction nightmare for Surrey resident"/ A good article, Dug up by The Province because old Schkelgruber or whatever his name is, lives close by Vancouver.by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
By the looks of that fence and shelter for the cops, somebody means business. My wife just looked at the plan, and asked, who in the hell do they think they are going to sell ANYTHING to? She raises an interesting point. Is this another case of Mexicans shooting themselves in the foot? Oh well, I guess Hawaii will be my next snorkeling, beer drinking, and eating hangout. Note: For we Nortby rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Tena looks fine to me. Missing are tables, chairs, people and pangas on the beach. Hopefully whatever the stink is, will get resolved and put to rest. Thanks for the photos.by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Hotso, Who gives a rat's arse how far and how much strength an AK-47 bullet retains it's strength. Horizontal is different than vertical, so let's all pack in this crap. Fact of the matter is, what is the truth about Tena??? The 3 cops in Manzanillo, Monday or Tuesday know how fast the bullets travel. So do the 2 guys on the highway outside Melaque about a month or so ago, oby rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Ya, Ed, I know bullets can go in the air too, but at 2500' an AK-47 bullet wouldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding. It would sure be nice to know EXACTLY what is/was/has happened, instead of all these reports, flapping in the breeze. Photos don't lie, well not exactly, anyways.by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Hey Chub, I'll bet you a dollar to a donut hole, you won't find a willing Captain. If Tena truly is the hornets nest we are lead to believe, I sure as hell wouldn't poke the nose of my panga around the point. I have a hunch, you would not be dealing with people having a full deck, hence an airplane flying at about 2500 ft. and a dam good camera.by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Well, you might want to find another aircraft, and I wouldn't get within range of some low IQ'ed nit on the end of an AK 47 or any rifle, for that matter. It would be nice to actually see what has happened as opposed to reading reports here on the forum. Personally, I have absolutely no interest, other than I enjoyed many enjoyable afternoon snorkells and great food with my daughter,by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Why not ask Tom to take some photos from the sky??? I don't understand the circumstances, and I don'dt think I want to, but if all we are reading is true, this is pretty hot and heavy. Oh well, Mexico's face is changing, I guess, and it won't do ANYBODY any good?by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Keeyreist, this is the biggest bitch fest I have seen in quite a while, especially, considering it is over the square root of SFA. Take a lude, go sit by your air conditioner, and crack a cold one. Sheesh. Where did all the good times go?by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Hey Boys and girls, Take a minute and read the article in the Guadalajara newspaper. That is where it was stated the entire Costalegre waterfront is in jeopardy. It is actually quite informative. It was not one of my brain phartz. Not one newspaper or news source in the US or Canada has spoken of Tenacatita, so I guess that is how important it is. How many of you beach dwellers down thereby rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Now kids, all of you try to get along. I know it's a challenge, but we are suppose to be civilized adults in a real shitzlepot of a world. Go to the Guadalajara Reporter for news re: Tenacatita. To toss salt in the wound, when you finish bitchin, is that the entire coast could/can be in jeopardy of similar circumstances/stupidity. On the other hand, if everyone was/is squatters, and someby rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
I hate to say it, but this kind of debockle has always steered me clear of property ownership, anywhere in Mexico, not just within bla bla bla of the high tide line. This is really, beyond a sickening situation, and as a Tenacatitian(not I), what in the hell do you do????? If you owned a restaraunt and kept the family going, or had a few palapas or bodegas for rent, I guess you have to shuffleby rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Susan, your speculations are right on the money. The East Indians own most of the berry crops in the Fraser Valley, right from Blueberries and Cranberries, to Strawberries and Raspberries. Mexican permitted staff are prevalent. Even where I live, they come in the fall and pick Salal and Cedar boughs for Christmas Wreaths. Some, before Christmas are Mexican school teachers, and they can make,by rompinggie - Off-Topic Forum
Sandy, Yes, here in B.C. we do take a Royal Hosing on booze. My Bud Light in the states, or Canadian, is often on sale for 5 bucks a dozen. Here is only 23 and change. Too bad it takes us all bloody day to get to the far side, or I'd be in the states every 2 weeks, getting gas, meat, our fish, beer, and Glenfiditch. So, I know where you are. Hey Scott, You talk about a blow to people, financially. My bag of peanuts everyday, has gone from 1.05 CAN to 1.12. I am not being sarcastic, but didn't I hear our Gov, mention the HST would be Financially Neutral? Poor people get an HST cheque every 3 months, I think. I am poor, and got a notice today, hoping it was a cheque, saying I am not poor enough? Gas is up, thanks to anotherby rompinggie - Off-Topic Forum
Hey Sandy, Hells bells, we would have been better up your neck of the woods. So is that the bridge that crosses the Adams River, or am I completley lost? I know there is a turn off about 10 miles? from that crappy campsite we were in. When we left last summer there were forest fires set by some screw ball, impersonaying a forestry dude, right? Is that your road? So when you run out of Glenfby rompinggie - Off-Topic Forum
So, Sandy, How did the Glenfidditch treat you last night? Probably similar to a good dose of Tequila, huh?. We were up in Salmon Arm last summer for a wonderful 10 days. We stayed in a campground owned by the natives, just NW I think. Dusty, not bad. Won't go back. Many years ago I lived in Sicamous and worked in Canoe for Fed Co-op. Noticed many changes in your lovely area. Oneby rompinggie - Off-Topic Forum
Mike, Who in the hell is LT? I ain't him. Back in 67, the whites wern't that popular with the non whites. Get it? So when confronted, you simply kept walking, no eye contact, notta. It was a tense summer down there. Could still be, for all I know. Havn't been back, and won't be either.by rompinggie - Off-Topic Forum
Mike B. No, I am not LT. I went to Expo 67 in Montreal, from B.C in a VW van. Long hair, eating pure protein along the way, we all got hives, and it was hot as hell. Expo stunk, in my estimation. Spent 1/2 a day there and saw nothing but lineups, so got PO'ed with my travelling companions, and went to visit my cousin in Lake St. Claire by bus. He took me to Detroit to a strip joint.by rompinggie - Off-Topic Forum
You said it Lamar. I watch the Knowledge Network and KCTS out of Seattle. Bug shows, travelogues, science, politics, finance, etc. The networks have gone mad. Is there a full moon out? I am going to look at the calendar. Nope, full moon on 26th of June. How in the hell did we get from 4 abandoned dogs, to an adolescent whore, dead, to 2 dead children and alcohol, to Jack Russell terriers, and right back to 1 pup left? Am I losing it? This is something else.by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
I am really confused, which is not an unsurmountable task. If you have a bad bugger walking the beaches, watch him and beware. If you want to rent a house, go rent one. Neither is all that difficult.\, or did I miss something?????by rompinggie - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Restaurants - well, after 4 visits last winter, we always ended up at Cafe Roma, on the N side of the river, just west of the foot bridges. Upstairs. Fox and his delightful staff do it right, and very reasonable. It's our favourite. Worth stopping in PV for, even when passing through. I really do think, they have the best pizza in all of Mexico. Holy cow, all you old farts get quite excited about something that means absolutely nothing to 97% of the public. Too much time, boys and girls. Here in B.C., trying to get to WA state is a hassle. I think the US Border people do a good job at Canadian/US Border crossings. Nobody sneaks through, avoiding the Homeland boys and girls. That being said, both countries share one of the longest borders in the world, and there isn't a fence over 99.99999% of it.
