How to get from PV to Barra

We will be travelling from PV to Barra. Any suggestions on the best way? Also want to do a shop in Manzanillo for groceries etc.

Bus

It is a pretty nice drive, road is always being improved, new bridges, about 3 1/2 hours, not recommended for night time as parts are narrow, twisty, no shoulders, bus is good alternative, try to get the better line with fewer stops, will take longer.

We stayed at the Hotel Rio in Old Town of Puerto Vallarta and then got the Primera Plus bus to Manzanillo although it also stops in Barra and Melaque. A pick up point is at a station about five blocks from the hotel and the staff (English speaking) can tell you how to get there or you can take a taxi. We got the tics the day before. The busses are wonderful
