San Agustín

San Agustín is a small seaside village near the resort town of Huatulco and can be reached by taxi or boat. The beach at the entrance town, seen in the foreground below, is dangerous for swimming, but the bay in the background is very calm and excellent for swimming and snorkeling. Numerous restaurants line the beach.

• Elia Carmelita Located near the entrance to the town. Seafood and pastas. We spent an enjoyable afternoon at this restaurant. Expensive. Owner speaks English. Menu page1, page2, page3.

Transportation • Transportación

San Agustín is located 5 miles off of highway 200, west of Huatulco. The turnoff is located at the west end of the airport across from the highway to Santa Maria Huatulco. It can be reached by taxi or boat.
• Huatulco International Airport (HUX), about 7 miles northt, with flights to Oaxaca and to Mexicana's hub in Mexico City.
• Tasis There is no taxi service in town, but a taxi will bring you from Huatulco and wait until you are ready to return for about US$60 (2008).
