I know there was just a big festival for St Mary last weekend. Is this the same festival as the virgin og Guadalup? If not, what might be the night to best join into the celebrations? I may be too late. Usually I recall it being the 12th.by Polinero1 - Colima - Comala

No help on the leather, but you must go to a store called Cima in Colima. I bought high quality faux rattan that I have been very happy with for 3 years. Not cheap, but Rattan, bamboo, does not hold up very well to humidity. If interested, pm me and I will give you directions. It is next to impossible to find on you own as the street has not been named so they made up their own name. It is nby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
Thanks for the virgen of Guadaloupe date. Is the Feria you are referring to the one at the fairgrounds that has a hug us tiangus at the front and at the back there are pavilions where many states display and sell their handicrafts? That is the feria I am looking for. Thanks for your helpby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
Does anyone know the date of the night before the virgenn of Guadalupe festival in Colima and or the dates of the big feria next season that takes place at the fairgrounds? I usually miss both but always enjoy when I go. Thanksby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
Stayed at a wonderful Hacienda a few blocks fron the zocalo. Ordered in from the Oaxacan restaurant in the thread. Ah que Nanish. Food was great. The staff from the hacienda de Gobinador sp? Plated and serverd the meal on our private patio. Food was great. The hotel was great too. Check out the hotel!by Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
I grew up on Vancouver and went with my dad to BC Lions games all the time. This was in the days of Wiily Flemming and Nub Beamer. I was a Lions fan, but always had a soft spot for The Roughriders. I stopped following Canadian football years ago as I worked in the USA . Still, when I found the Riders were in the Grey Cup in Regina, I had to watch. Does anyone know if it still on and, if so , when it ends. Also, what time does it open? I am most interested in the state stalls at the far end of the site. Thanksby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
I am pretty sure that I am not the only persona in zlo to have lost a receiver in that thunder storm a couple of nights ago. With Shaw ending their home away from home problem, it was a real hassle to try to return, and I am pretty sure when they saw the burn marks, I would be charged. My local satellite guy determined the pvr and the receiver could not be repaired. I was surprised that he tolby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala

This is horrific. There was also the shopping mall shooting in Happy Valley Ore., this week. Then the Denver mass killer at at a movie screening. I do not hear of these kinds of mass murders in Mexico. True, mamyinnocents are caught in the crossfire, which is horrible, but you do not hear a travel advisory saying one should nod not travel tothe USA. I do not want to see anyone die, but one drby Polinero1 - Off-Topic Forum
Just back from the Virgin of Guadalupe festival. Go next year on the 11th as that night is the big night, not the actual day, the. 12th Ate at the Oaxacan restaurant in this thread on condo de mayo. Mole as good as Oaxaca. Also went the Basta Pasta. Also great. I happened to order the fettuccine el chipotle with shrimp. Very reasonable. Just back from joining in the Virgen of Guadlupe celebrations in Colima. I stayed the the Ceballos. It is very charming. The staff were wonderful. If you end up booking, ask for a room with a view to the zocalo. My room, and the whole hotel, was very clean. It is charming, but a bit tired. It has not really been modernized since it was built. I went with three other people and all loved tby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
You are right on the zocalo in the historic part of the city. There is a wonderful little museum, the bandstand, a pretty good breakfast. By Mexican standards, it is a bit expensive and can be noisy depending if anything is happening. Many people prefer the b&b's in Comala. 20 minutes from downtown. Look at other posts to get the names. Since you are going that far, I would suggby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
Love Comala and would be happy to stay there if that is where I can get the best experience. I was in DF a few years ago and visited the shrine for the virgin and the memory of the vibe and the devotion of the people ranks very high on my top 10 memororoes of travels all over the world. Any info would be appreciated.by Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
I am thinking about coming from Manzanillo to Colima to see the celebrations surrounding this very special day. I have been told that Colima is a good place to go. I know the week countdown to the actual date of December 12th has begun, but do not know when is the best time to be there? Any suggestions. If I do go, I was thinking about staying at the Best Western on the zocalo (Cebllos sp?) bby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala

Same place. I found it and bought some nice alebrejes and huiclilo bead work at good prices. You do not take the first exit that says Colima, but the next that I think said La Estacia and it is 4kms on the right side of the freeway. So you know, it does not open until 1:00 on weekdays and 10::00 on the weekends.by Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
I bought a lounger, two arm chairs and a side table for outdoors from Cima two years ago. It was expensive but has held up very well and still looks new and I am on the water! I did manage to bargain them down a bit, maybe 10% by paying in usd cash, but there is little wiggle room. They pulled out purchase order after purchase order from hotels in PV, Miami, Phoenix etc to show that I was payiby Polinero1 - Colima - Comala
