Winter Bird List Comala (long)

It's been a little slow here, and I'm pretty sure this won't help much, but here's a list of the birds I saw during our stay in Comala this winter. All were seen (as compared to heard only), and all were in easy walking distance of Comala and Nogueras and the roads in between.

What a great list!!! I can never seem to get close enough, even with our binoculars to figure out what the bird is.....there are so many that are similar in size & color......I've figured out the flock of chacalacas, hummingbirds, etc. & we do have the same book you referenced. Good job!

I am particularly jealous of the owl.
I have been chasing them for a long time with no luck.
On the other hand I have been lucky enough to see spotted wrens, vermillion flycatchers and bluebirds.
Not much around today (early June) but I will be back to Casa Alvarada and my friend Jupiter has his ears open for new birds.

In the area you mention you can also see very common the White throated magpie jay,

I found a few things I forgot to list and I see that the Magpie-Jay is one of them - we saw them on the square in Nogueras This is one of those "wow" species like Motmots and Squirrel Cuckoos. Another one I forgot to list was Ruddy Ground-Dove. Thanks for the comment.
