- Friday, July 4: Cedar Park, TX, 4th of July Parade and Celebration. Elizabeth Milburn Park, 1901 Sun Chase Blvd. Tom playied with the band Common Thread from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. Following Common Thread was Ulrich Ellison and Tribe (recommended to see), then Crossline. Common Thread is a rock and roll band from the Journey Bible Fellowship in Leander. Tom Penick played with them to fill in for the regular bass player, John, who was on vacation. Tom played bass on Stray Cat Strut, Superstition, and Power of Love and Randy played bass on the others.
Martin was the sound guy.
This turned out to be a pleasant day because there were distant thunderstorms that sent cool breezes across the fairgrounds although it never rained at the site. The songs we played:
