Rentals in Mexico are not like they are in the States where you just drop off in another town. If you are going to keep it for your stay it may be OK but very costly to pay to return it to GDL

I would ask on a real Vallarta board like The Puerto Vallarta Scene Forum I would say a trip back to Old Town or Walmart. Very little south of town except hotels and condos Forget Travelers Checks or personal checks
