Apologies for assuming your were a guy. Dobie posted another picture on the La Manz site. Heard there was now the equivalent of a restraining order in place, so maybe nothing else will get the dozer.by por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Does anyone know who this guy is? These are very strange pictures of places that have always been falling down -- every year for years. Who would someone be who could get in and then fail to take pictures of the restaurant area or any of the houses. I don't get this post...by por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
(I didn't know how to make it an active link.) Person mentioned is a well known resident of La Manz, here year around, teaches cooking courses.by por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
This article seems to describe how the land mess came about, as opposed to others that just rehash the current happenings and the various govermental responses: Suggest you use google chrome and translate it if you don't read Spanish.by por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Dobie - posted this on La Manz board: This just in from Irene, a German woman who has title to her property (through a fidecomiso) on the palmar of Tenacatita - not in the federal zone: I have hardly slept and eaten for 3 days. Trying to get things organized and rescuing some of my stuff. Please read this carefully, I am here in the hub of the wheel. PAGINA 24, a local Jalisco newspaper reported (and my Spanish is not the best and the paper is not online) that there is the possibility of more violence (so far three shot (one guy was 75 yrs old) and wounded among the ejido and two state policemen). The paper reported the number as about 55 - 60 ejido members involved in a dispute over 40 hectares of land, 17 of whom were arrested -- the youngby por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas

A heads up. Today, the palapas at Tenacatita were apparently burned. Sand was moved onto the road and cars that had gone in during the morning hours were trapped. The military is carrying out the action. A bungalow owner in La Manz reported that guests she had that had gone this morning were still not home. An article at is roughly translated below: Employers Zafiro project displaby por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
There are several other places as well. On the way into the beach area, there are two restaurants -- Mayhuel (or something like that) which has wonderful soups and pretty good other stuff and a fish restaurant (located next to the laundry on your left, just beyond the second dip in the road). The chef is the former chef at Blue Bay and does super breakfasts and fabulous fish (the cilantro sauceby por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
I wonder if Janice might know who he is.by por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
We drove out and saw the bowl last year. The bowl is an art project that is quite amazing. It is inset with glass and when viewed from the house that is roughly inland to the west, it appears that the sun, with an amazing luminescence (not sure I spelled that right) is setting in the bowl. You can drive out to it if you can talk your way past the guard near the polo grounds. Well worth seeingby por carolandpuppy - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
