Hello, What I know is that it is iodized and fluoridated to prevent an illness called goiter disease (Bocio) in spanish. They add the Iodine and flourid just before they put in the bag the salt. The Volcano has been shut down since Feb 2017. It is when it had its last activity. The clouds come in around 10:30pm and stay until 6:30pm aprox. We have been getting close to it almost every day and we just hear some rocks coming down in November. But no ash, just steam. Hello it starts on a Friday, so it will either be on Feb 2nd or the 9th. The Festivities are in honor of San Felipe de Jesus which is the pratron against earthquakes and fires. Great that you had a chance to see it. Last year the days they had the bullfights they had no horse parade.
