Booked flights kind of late and managed to find good and decent priced accommodation from Puerto Escondido for the first part of our trip. However, it seems to be almost impossible to find accommodation or at least book it via Internet right after Christmas and over New Year. From the information I have gathered it seems like it would not be a good idea to show up without making a reservation beforehand. Any tips on how to advance? We have already checked Airbnb and all the major booking sites.

It can be a bit of a challenge but try contacting the properties directly. Just because properties say sold out on all the different booking sites it doesn't always mean they are.
