Snakes alive...esposa she has nerves of steel. Said snake is obviously not looking for lunch on two legs today. What kind of snake is that? Coral... or...Mexican Milk snake?
From days gone by when I lived in the southern part of the United States, I'd say there's a good chance that it a non-poisonous rat snake. It could be a poisonous copperhead, but it looks a bit too long. Since I have lived in snake free Alaska for so many years, I would not trust my judgment very much, but the two snakes do look very much alike. I seem to recall that there is a difference in the pupils of the eyes, but that would require a bit more looking than I would care to do.
a red-brown sand boa?
Professore Zed: I know they say that you have truely gone fishing butt, never mind the snake. Beware esposa tu ya!!!
It's a Corn Snake. We used to catch them as a kid on the ranch. They are great to have around they eat mice and rats. [en.wikipedia.org] Dave I believe if the snake is poisonous the pupils are vertical not round but like you say who wants to get that close and find out they are. Edited 1 time(s). Shape of head rules out copperhead. Not poisonous. LOL!
My roommate, the snake lover, says D&D is correct, ti is a corn snake, he has one as a pet (he also has a rat snake). It is as harmless as can be, although I wouldn't want it crawling on me!
