Update:

With sustained winds of 315 kph (195 mph) and gusts as strong as 380 kph (235 mph), Haiyan was probably the strongest tropical cyclone to hit land anywhere in the world in recorded history. It will take further analysis after the storm passes to establish whether it is a record.

Just be thankful it's not hitting Mexico ....

Ok this guy is a clown but I'm thinking that we need to get a big flatscreen and a microphone for Dogtown and put this guy out of business.

Nancy: Thanks for leaving this up on the Puerto board for several days, because it was something Puerto residents needed to know about. Thankfully, it was on the other side of the Pacfic.

I am curreently surfing the China Sea in the Philippines. I was originally going to head to Bohol (earthquake) for some sightseeing before heading to Eastern Samar for some remote surf.

Because of the earthquake in Bohol, I changed my plans......I have to say that it worked out well.

The airport in Tacloban lost every single building.....and those buildings are built to fairly good standards.

Makes me wonder how those nipa huts made out.

It did generate overhead sets in the China Sea as it passed.
