Last night my husband, myself and a friend went to a new "French" restaurant in Comala, up the hill and just off of Hidalgo. You turn left at the sports field, about mid-field - the house on the corner is a white textured concrete, overlaid with brown but you may not be able to see it in the dark, as they do not open until 8 pm. He does put a sign at the corner and it is about 50 mts from the corner. Although it is small and non-descript, the owner is the genuine article and a pretty darned good cook. The offerings are varied (and includes the ubiquitous arachera) and the prices are quite reasonable. He also serves beer and of course, French wines. I hope anyone that reads this and is in the area in the evening, will give him a try. It would be nice to see a success of something different!
Does it have a name? I know that the choice after 6pm it pretty little. Howard Platt, Manzanillo hplattbc@gmail.com
The name of this place is "Le Cafe Gourmand" they were previously in Suchitlan, but I guess one of the last indiginous towns of Colima didnĀ“t have a tast for French Cousin. Well now they are in J.Jesus Rivas # 13 in Comala closed on Mondays. Saludos desde Comala! It was too far up the hill for me to walk from where we were staying, and I did not want to drive. Howard Platt, Manzanillo hplattbc@gmail.com Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
