Colima volcano (Mexico): increased activity, lava flows?

Is this true? Yesterday, there was a posting to the Volcano Discovery web-site which is reporting that there has been recent lava flow activity on Colima volcano. There is a photo also appearing to show fire streaming down the mountain. Is the lava stream visible from Comala city proper?

We have a volcano view here but it's been obscured with cloud cover for most of the last few weeks and totally over the past few days. It was clear this morning but there was no activity.

We are headed there today hope to see it. Any recommendations for places to see and eat at?

Two good paces to see it:
--Just drive through Comala and up the road towards La Maria.
--Go to Nogueras from Comala (turn right at the Pemex when coming into town). When you come to Nogueras, the road will fork - there's a fountain or something there. Go left and in a short ways there's another road going left down a steep hill. Take it. This is a rock and cobblestone road and therefore rough in places but it is a very interesting drive. Several Ks up the road there is an unmarked cobblestone road to the left (one of several along here) that goes through a canyon to Suchitlan. If you go straight, you will wind about 10 or more miles to another highway. Go left and it will take you to the highway back to Comala.
The unpretentious Portalles Restaurant in Suchitlan is very nice inside - food is pretty good.
Of course you can also stop at one of the botanas in Comla - several on the square and a couple on the road coming in. Order a drink and they start hauling out the free food. Other than that, Comala is not noted for its dining opportunities.

I forgot to mention - the volcano has been pretty quiet the past few days. There are usually some clouds that form over it in the late morning and early afternoon - often the only clouds in the sky.

When I was there we drove to La Yebabuena where a guide book said there was good volcano view. La Yebabuena is located East of Suchitlán. It is a ghost town as all it residents were re-located by the governemnt due to its dangerous proxmity to the volcano (my information is from the guide book). Once we reached the town a English speaking resident (squatter?) gave us directions to a road out of town where we were able to get a good view. The road ended at a gate located at the peak of a ridge. We parked the car and walked past the gate to the other side of the ridge where there was a view of sort of valley with the volcano in the background. There is a farm in the valley but the soil seemed to be a very fine and sticky ash. Use Google Maps to search for "La Yerbabuena, COL, Mexico".

Took the long way up and stopped at El Salto? water fall/ water park. Walked arount the town center and saw some of the sights and churchs. We are going to spend the night and then do some driving around before we come home to ZLO. Thanks for the information.

Yes, we are actually giving tours to see the volcano at night. AWSOME!
