I've lived in Mexico for a few years and have always kept up with the national news, but I know many people whose Spanish isn't quite good enough that they can easily read a newspaper or news website. So one day about five months ago I launched Mexico News Daily.
We curate Mexican news stories from newspaper and magazine websites and blogs and publish them in English. Today, more than 30,000 people visit every month, a figure that is steadily growing, and at least half are repeat visitors.
If you like what you see, we also offer two options for receiving news updates, one with an email we send three times a week and the other through our Facebook page, which is continually updated. During the past five months, more than 2,000 people, most of whom live in Mexico, have selected the first option. Another 9,798 (and counting) have joined our Facebook community.
