Puerto Escondido is ideally situated on the Pacific Coast of Mexico (15° 51'N, 97° 04'W), close to deep water and highly productive fishing grounds. The Middle America Trench is only about 10 miles offshore Puerto Escondido. We offer full and half-day sport fishing charters for year-around action. Our experienced local captain will ensure that your trip is both fun and successful. - Our boats are 25 ft long. They are set up for serious fishing with a depth sounder and a GPS. We provide top quality fishing tackle.
- We can comfortably accommodate 4 people. The boat has lots of shade. We provide bait and ice. A lunch is included on full-day charters. Safety equipment includes a VHF radio, life jackets, cell phone, GPS, anchor, flares, and a fire extinguisher.
- We recommend full-day charters for offshore marlin fishing. We troll, bait, and switch. We release most billfish, especially sailfish. We recommend keeping only what you can eat. For half-day inshore charters, we troll, drift, and cast. We'll gladly arrange for one of our fine local restaurants to prepare your catch.
Captain Omar Ramirez was born in Puerto Escondido, and has been guiding since he was 15 years old. He has a genuine passion for the ocean and the life in it. He and his experienced crew will work their hardest to see that your trip is a success.

Depending on the species we find, the dolphins will be jumping, "tail walking", riding the bow wake, playing in the stern wake, etc. You'll be able to listen to how they communicate with each other, either by getting in the water with them, or by listening via the hydrophones we provide. Other things we will see are sea turtles, manta rays, flying fish, and numerous species of sea birds. In the winter months, we may even see humpback whales.
The Gitanita is 33 ft long, seats 20 people, and is specially designed for dolphin watching and eco-tours. There is plenty of shade, and modern safety equipment: GPS, cell phone, VHF radio, life jackets, etc.
"Dolphins have a universal appeal, symbolizing freedom, joy, grace and serenity. They uplift the spirits of many people all around the world." - Captain Omar. As the saying goes, let the pictures speak for themselves (taken in December 2005).
