The Museo Regional de Historia is located in an old colonial style mansion built in the early 19th century. The displays are divided into two parts, the pre-Hispanic history and the story of the influence of the West in the 20th century. Pieces are exhibited belonging to the ceramic phases Capacha, Ortices and Comala. Stone tools and pottery are displayed along with snail and shell ornaments. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 9 a.m. till 6 p.m. except Sunday the hours are 5-8 p.m.
