Brownsville to Georgetown 2014

Weather and Flight Plan

Brownsville had the same low visibility and broken cloud layer that Tampico did. The weather would improve for the northern section of our route. This would be a night flight so I filed IFR at 6000' direct to Georgetown.

The Flight

We were cleared direct to Corpus Christi (CRP) and then direct Georgetown. We departed Brownsville and were handed over to Valley Departure on 119.5. Later we were transferred to Corpus Approach on 120.9 and cleared direct to Georgetown. This did not make much difference in the heading. Fog had rolled in and Corpus had ceilings of 200'. The remainder of the flight was uneventful and we had VFR conditions at Georgetown.
