Oaxaca
The Oaxacan Coast is a region of rugged, tropical beauty set against a background of mountainous jungle. For the traveler, it offers a variety of settings from the plush resorts of Huatulco to remote, low-key beachfront hideways. An inland excursion can take you to a coffee plantation or to Oaxaca's capital, a unique cultural center surrounded by craft villages and archaeological sites.

Jalisco
Jalisco has a lengthy coastline known as Costalegre that stretches from Puerto Vallarta at the northwest end to Barra de Navidad to the southeast. It's many resorts and villages offer a variety of settings for the visitor.
Colima
The tiny state of Colima is where you find the city of Manzanillo, an important seaport and resort area. Manzanillo is known as the Sailfish Capital of the World. Inland cities offer volcano tours and feature botaneros, a type of bar/restaurant offering a stream of appetizers with your drinks.

A gravesite decorated for the Day Of the Dead in Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca

Events in November 2025 in and around Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca.

October 30 & 31, 4:00 pm.   The Junior High School will do the Carpet (El Tapete) representation Day of the Dead. #86 Calle 9 Norte

November 1,   Day of the Dead activites begin at the cemeteries. It is a cultural and special time for those who lost their infant loved ones.

November 1, 5:00 pm.   Fiesta. Calenda from Mercado Benito Juarez to City hall. Banda walking down with the Government people and Casa de Cultura. live music,

November 1, 8:00 pm.   Inauguration Concert. Banda from Sinaloa. Live music. City Hall.

November 2, 7:00 am.   Las Catrinas by Paddel and Kayak weldome Traditional Folk at Puerto Angelito. A special event organized by the families of the Paddel Aquatic group, Puerto Angelito beach SHOPS, Government sport of OAXACA. Afterwards, a get-together convivio. Register at 954 150 29 28.

November 2,   Day of the Dead. People visit their loved ones in the cemeteries. Restaurants and bakeries will have the bread de Muertos and hot chocolate. If you would like to participate, contact Gina Machorro at the tourist booth to make reservations. She does a limited group tour.

November 5, 7:00 pm.   Movies at Villa Sol Club on Playa Bacocho. 7 P.M.

November 7, 8 & 9, 7:00 pm.   Danza Costeña. Folk Dancing. At City Hall (Agencia Municipal). 7, 8 and 9 NOVEMBER

November 14, 5:00 pm.   Guelaguetza in Zicatela. Calle del Morro. Food event and street market.

November 15 & 16, 10:00 am.   Motocross. Cerro de la Vieja.

November 21, 22, & 23, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.   Fishing Tournament. Sailfish. Playa Principal.

November 28, 29, & 30, 7:00 am to 1:00 pm.   Surf Tournament. Playa Zicatela.
