Nice job Elke ! We got there late....by por ScottM - Off-Topic Forum
With laptops, they just lift the little lid...by por ScottM - Off-Topic Forum
Wanderer: 'OneMouth's" IP is from somewhere in Ohio, so that will automatically make him a true authority on Mexican tourism... :)by por ScottM - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Mort...I posted a response to your thread, but it quickly got deleted. Guess I busted a rule. The article you linked too is a classic.by por ScottM - Off-Topic Forum
Try 'Lozano Golf' in Guadalajara. They offer a complete line of remanufactured and warranted carts. I'm sure they will arrange to have it delivered here as well. Good website. Have neighbours that bought one, and seem very happy with it.by por ScottM - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Yep, I had a hard time prying myself out of there too. If it's still in business, it was (I think) on Hidalgo right around the corner from the Cathedral. GPS for us dummies: Stand facing the front of the cathedral, head toward the museum(right), then go left about a block. Now I lost one too...I was in a superb (huge) lighting store a while back. Somehow I think it was near a Soriana...by por ScottM - Colima - Comala
Zummie: We Canucks have been getting bad press since our government started leaving senior citizens to die on ice-floes in the Arctic. I didn't totally agree with that approach, but it did apply to both French and English seniors.by por ScottM - Off-Topic Forum
Not a chance of success Zummie...The first morning those troops get trapped in a Tim Hortons drive-thru, we'll release our packs of rabid polar bears on them.by por ScottM - Off-Topic Forum
Geez Jack, if I was a rat and all we had was corn, corn , corn for 3 generations (!) I'd be so bored, I wouldn't be horney either. All the girls would likely smell like old Doritos. Let 'em test the rats on 3 generations of Scotch and see how they do ! Someone was wondering who those 'Malthusians' were, I think they live outside Toronto in 'Malton'.....work aby por ScottM - Off-Topic Forum
Good heavens Mort ! You're not suggesting that the new regime might be more corrupt than the current one are you ? As for 'Tenacatita 1'....keep your head down and your ID well hidden.by por ScottM - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Loo: You must have the slowest internet service in Mexico. That stuff you seemed to have discovered and 'bumped' happened months ago...by por ScottM - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Remember, travel health insurers are responsible to their shareholders, not you ! All that fine print is not for your benefit...it's for them. When you find an honest 'plain language' insurer, post it here .....if you live long enough.by por ScottM - Off-Topic Forum
Sorry, with my lame Spanish I am unable to get the meaning and significance of this piece. The Google translation seems to just add to the fog. Can someone more fluent than I summarize this thing ? Thanks!by por ScottM - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
La Casa de la Piedra out beside Home Depot is pretty impressive. Great open kitchen and grille. Complimentary salsas custom made for you at your table. The buffet breakfast at the Ceballos is tough to beat, but for a quick, Mexican breakfast, " El Trebol" is just across the park from the Ceballos and offers good food at a great price. Good restaurants right downtown are a bit oby por ScottM - Colima - Comala
Managed to finally get to Nogueras, and, alas, the mutt I was looking for was not available. "Zizi" the wonderful keeper of the Nogueras handicraft outlet, called Sr. Rios, and arranged to have him custom make one for us ! A couple of weeks later, I met with her for coffee at the Ceballos, and she had the beautifully made perro ready for us. She also arranged for me to meet Sr. Rby por ScottM - Colima - Comala
Dropped in to the new "Fiesta Mexicana" a couple of days ago. It's just a short walk from the 'lagoon' and they've done a really nice job building their new facility. Clean washrooms, regarderas, nice new kitchen. Just needs a few finishing touches to get it finished. If your driving, park near the beach at the croc lagoon, and walk down the beach a few hundrby por ScottM - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
I would expect a massive hotel/ resort would be an excellent way to 'launder' a big amount of money in this cash based society. The hotels may be virtually empty, but the cooked books would show a 90% occupancy, with great wads of cash to support the claims of the high occupancy rate... Can't say that I've ever seen a crowd at the 'huge local resort', and almost noby por ScottM - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Really disturbing: Notice the State Police truck in front of the backhoe. Must take an incredible amount of money for Sr. Villalobos to hire his own militia.by por ScottM - La Manzanilla - Tenacatita - Boca de Iguanas
Perfect answer. Thanks for your help ! The sculpture that I currently have may have come from his studio. The quality is exceptional. Adios y Gracias..Scott Mby por ScottM - Colima - Comala
The nice artisan shop just around the corner from Hotel Ceballos used to carry a clay 'grave dog' of exceptional quality. These were pretty large creations (about the size of a real Chihuaha)... Last few times I've dropped in, they just seemed to have the small (cruder) mutts. Where are these things fabricated ? Are they available directly from a sculptor in the area ? Thanks Blaine, but looking for the actual 'rack' itself. The vehicle (older CRV) has nothing now, so would like to get something to bolt on....by por ScottM - Off-Topic Forum
