La Manzanilla isn't the only place with this problem. Our painter (he lives in Villa Obregon) had his house broken into while he and his family where in Cihuatlan at the hospital there (his Father-in-law had a heart attack), they took the TV, DVD player, some furniture and everything else of value they could find. With all the exterior metal works, subsequent salt water corrosion and the required annual re-painting, it would make a lotta sense to have said metal works powder coated. No powder coating facilities to be found in the Melaque/Barra area. The herrerias we used had no clue what powder coating was.
