I feel the need to point out to anyone who may be thinking of visiting this region that the story [1998] in the Pochutla section, under Miscellaneous, entitled "Taxi Trip to Pochutla," is ethnocentric, misleading, insulting to Mexican cab drivers, and downright silly. I have been taking cabs and collectivos around here for years and have always been safe, even when things may have seemed strange to me. The author provides no grounds for believing that anything 'sinister' at all was going on.
