US 'in peace talks with Taliban'

Okay, so this has nothing directly to do with Puerto.
I was just hoping to see what you all have to say about this article from BBC.

Hey, they were originally U.S.-supported guerrilla fighters, waging proxy warfare against the Soviets, until the Taliban ran the Rooskies out. They were still our boys when Bin Laden took the rap for 9-11. Business as usual....
