Car in Mexico
May 12, 2011 07:54PM
Hello,

I will be coming in Mexico next week and I want to drive my car. What do I have to do before I go to the custom or can I take care of it at the custom only?

Thanks for a fast reply

We can have your auto insurance in place when you leave home.

Customs can look thru your belongings as you pass thru Customs .... but they have nothing to do with the car permit or your Visa

My bad Sparky.

Here I thought all along that the the aduana and migration were completely different entities.

The first grantiung permission to to import your vehicle.

The second granting permission to import your body.

I must be losing my mind.

I spaced out thinking only of Nogales crossing. First you get your visa, then Banjercito for auto permit ... then further down the road is Customs/Aduana to look at what your are importing. The permit you get at Banjercito is issued thru Aduana/Customs
