This is Susan Dearing of Underworld Scuba - Scuba Shack. This is a strange one. A couple of months ago we found a bag of scuba gear outside our dive center with a note. The note was addressed to Sr. Fernando, who is our instructor. The woman who wrote the note was Bev (I think, can't find the note), and she said her husband Tomas died and here is his scuba gear. We are trying to locate her to find out what she meant by the note. Was the gear to go to Fernando, and, if so why? We think they live up in Barra or Melaque, because I know of no one here named Tomas who died. It is obvious the equipment was either rented or bought from us, but don't know which, and have no records of a recent sale or rental of the gear in the bag. We'd like to see if we can locate the wife or locate someone who knows who she is. We are trying to clarify what to do with the equipment. We are thinking it was rental gear that was never brought back because of her husband dying, and she was embarrassed that it took her so long to return it, so she just left it outside. We do not intend to charge her anything, just need to know what to do about the equipment.
