Since this photo was taken, the Hotel Alondra has been constructed and things have moved around a bit, but Barra still contains many of these small shops.
In Barra's market and many small shops you can find wood carvings, stone carvings, wind chimes, pottery, hammocks, rugs, jewelry, etc. It is amazing how much shopping there is in this small town.
Better bring an empty suitcase. Or better still, bring a suitcase of clothing to donate and use the empty suitcase to take back your loot.
