Weather and Flight Plan
The weather was clear and sunny. Gina and Sheila picked us up at the hotel and we had breakfast at Mangos on Zicatela. When we got to the airport I filled out a flight plan at the office of the Comandante outside of the terminal off of the parking lot. I took the plan to Operations, which is outside the terminal at the edge of the ramp, and paid my airport use fee. Then it was back to the Comandante with the stamped flight plan. We then took our luggage to the plane and prepared for the flight.
For this trip I plan to fly along the route of the new highway and photograph the construction progress.

The Flight
Takeoff: 10:57 am Landing: 2:32 pm Duration: 3 hours 35 minutes Distance: 398 NM
We were cleared for takeoff on runway 27. We turned out to the left and flew along the coast for a short time until the new highway construction came into view. We turned north and proceeded to photograph the progress on the highway.
See Photos of the Flight.
At the Tampico Airport (MMPS)
We taxied to the Customs area. Some of the customs people were gone to lunch and we entered at the passenger doorway. We visited all of the offices to turn in our visas, close the flight plan, fill out a new flight plan to Brownsville, and pay our exit and airport use fees.
