Description

Casa Paloma Sur is a small hotel operated by the husband and wife team of Bernardino and Lisa Lara. The hotel is located on the main street in San Augustinillo, features a shady interior courtyard, and is just a short walk from the beach. Wireless internet access is available for guests, so bring you laptop. A telephone is available with 12-peso per minutes calls to the U.S. and Canada. The Bibleoteca de San Agustinillo (library) is located across the street.

Bernardino will prepare meals to order for guests, given advance notice. Some specialties are mole, red snapper fresh from the sea, wrapped in banana leaves out of the garden, then grilled, pork in green sauce, and guacamole. Bernardino also gives cooking lessons for 500 pesos per person which includes the food and drink. You can decide what you want to learn to cook.

There are several restaurants within walking distance and one shop. More shopping is available in nearby Mazunte, a 5-peso taxi ride away. Casa Paloma can provide laundry service for 100 pesos per load when the sun is shining (no dryer available).
