What's New?

El Cerrito is an archaeological site located on the southeast side of Santa Inés Yatzeche. Yatzeche may be reached by traveling west from Ocotlan. This road is not shown on the Guia Roji road map and the road to Yatzeche that is shown is merely a trail through fields of corn and flowers. The site is not open to the public and rises out of a cornfield. One of the piramids was even plowed over and planted in corn.

El Cerrito rises from a field of corn.

This overgrown mound is typical of an unrestored piramid.

El Cerrito.

Our faithful VW from Económica brought us here.

Cerrito is cerrado. This gate and fence enclosed some sort of mining operation and probably part of the archaeological site.
