Description:
Amigos por un Refugio Animal (ARA) is a non-profit animal welfare organization in Manzanillo, Mexico. We are dedicated to cultivating respect and awareness for the rights and needs of animals and the importance of the human-animal bond.Meetings:We envision Manzanillo as a city where there are no homeless animals. As a result of our work and through collaboration with other organizations and government offices.
- Sterilization of dogs and cats will be readily available to all, regardless of financial circumstances;
- A shelter will exist for the care and rehabilitation of homeless dogs and cats until they are adopted; and
- A broad-based education program will promote humane treatment of all animals.
ARA meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 11:30 a.m. at Hotel Playa de Santiago. All concerned citizens are invited to attend and to participate as we reach out to the community and officials at all government levels to help relieve the needless suffering of street animals while reducing the danger to public health represented by a runaway population of unvaccinated animals.
