Background

In 2005, a handful of people concerned with the homeless pet population of Manzanillo, began to meet regularly sharing ideas on how we could lessen the suffering of the street dogs and cats we found in all the local colonias. Our dream is to someday have a shelter to house these homeless animals, hopefully with the help of the city, state and federal governments. In the meantime, our volunteer members feel the best way to begin to reduce Manzanillo's massive pet overpopulation problem is through sterilization and public education.

Activities

We support, with effort and donations, free sterilization clinics. We work with Dr. Alejandro Garcia Guevara, to provide low cost/free sterilizations for dogs and cats in the community.

We sponsor fund raisers, have begun hosting Blessings of the Animals events at local churches in order to seek help making connections in the communities as we spread the word of our desire to help the animals.

We meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 11:30am at Hotel Playa de Santiago and invite all likewise concerned citizens to participate as we reach out to the community and officials within the governments to help relieve the needless suffering of the street animals.

We offer assistance to those who cannot afford to have their animals sterilized through our free sterilization certificate program. If you want to have your pet sterilized surgically, or have any question about our organization, please contact us.

Antecedentes
